BEN REID / Paradise Lost

“Paradise Lost” by Ben Reid.  Showing at Chambers@241 from 14th – 23rd September 2011 :

Spread Your Tiny Wings

Right Leaning (Edition 11/12, drypoint intaglio & relief print)

Ben Reid is an emerging artist producing both print and mixed-media works.  In his prints, Reid combines specific references to local environmental histories with a wider appreciation for the conservation movement.  Providing gentle reminders of the fragile nature of New Zealand’s environment, Reid’s recent prints focus on vulnerable native plants and animals whose existence has been threatened by disease, loss of habitat and the introduction of exotic predators.

Went too see this show, thought it was fantastic, the level of detail is amazing. It’s also nice to have a gentle reminder instead of a hard kick when it comes to art.
